Amari: Bittersweet Herbal Liqueurs, Made in Colorado

Method and Muse Spirits specializes in small batch amaro distilled locally in Golden, Colorado and available for purchase in Olde Town Arvada. Amari (the plural of amaro) are in a category of spirits that display bittersweet botanical characteristics. The term amaro describes a wide range of typically-Italian bittersweet liqueurs. These liqueurs range from simple to complex, dry to sweet, and aperitif to digestif. With growing popularity in the United States, we use the general term to refer to any bittersweet herbal liqueur.

At Method & Muse, we celebrate global flavors, recognizing that nearly every culture has mixed alcoholic spirits, herbs and spices, and sugar, to make its own delicious version of botanical liqueur. Our amari highlight regional flavors to create experiences driven by a sense of place. We make no claims that these spirits originated in their regions, but instead imagine and craft spirits that honor regional flavors and botanicals. Enjoy on the rocks or mixed with other spirits for a delicious and memorable cocktail experience. Our Amari have less sugar than traditional varieties; feel free to add simple syrup if you’d like more sweetness. Cheers!
